The positivity rate is probably the most telling metric.


If that goes up significantly, it means the virus is more prevalent. 15% is really high. The question is, did they modify the way they are testing? Are they only testing the ones that are very ill? Mexico City has had weeks where the positivity rate was 50%, but they have only ever tested the people that end up sick enough to go to the hospital. Obviously that will make the % go up. Another question is, does VT count people that had previously tested positive in their weekly positivity %? In other words, does the % count a second test for people who are or were sick? If so, this could be them testing again to see if people have cleared the virus. A lot haven't, so positivity rate goes up. The positivity metric only really matters for new positives. I've never understood counting repeat positive tests in that %.
